GEORGIA COAST SAMPLE ITINERARY (4 DAYS / 4 NIGHTS)

DAY 1: Travel to HISTORIC ST MARYS GEORGIA; the second oldest continuously inhabited city next to St Augustine Florida.

THE CUMBERLAND ISLAND MUSEUM & WAR OF 1812 EXHIBIT – View remembrances of the famed Carnegie family that fill the rooms; along with remnants of the Timucuan Indians who once inhabited Cumberland Island. A moving exhibit of ‘The Forgotten Invasion” demonstrates the dramatic events that occurred during the last battle of the War of 1812 fought at Point Peter in St Mary’s Georgia.

OAK GROVE CEMETERY (c.1788) - Spanish moss laden oaks shelter the resting place of many, including soldiers from every war. The year 1801 marks one of the earlier graves, with many unmarked, and many marked with beautiful headstones & angels from the past.

ORANGE HALL HOUSE MUSEUM (c.1829) - Tour an extraordinary sample of antebellum life in Greek Revival Style. The architectural pearl of this historic area even houses a ghost or two.

ST MARYS SUBMARINE MUSEUM – Periscope up and take a look at St Marys from the view of a submarine like those from nearby Kings Bay Submarine Base. The history from those brave enough to serve under the sea fill the rooms.

DAY 2: JEKYLL ISLAND – There’s a reason it’s one of the Golden Isles! The combination of the landmark historic district and the white sand beaches makes this Georgia barrier island SHINE!

GEORGIA SEA TURTLE CENTER – Home to injured sea turtles, see them close up and follow their amazing journey!

EMERALD PRINCESS DINNER CRUISE & CASINO – Need we say more? Delicious buffet meals, Vegas-style entertainment and breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean.

DAY 3: OKEFENOKEE NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE – A guided boat tour takes you through the Land of the Trembling Earth!

FOLKSTON FUNNEL – HEAR the roar of the train! FEEL the vibration of the ground & the force of the wind as the train blazes across the tracks! SEE trains up close!

WOODBINE OPRY – Old timey, kick your heals up Bluegrass, Classic Country & Gospel, a true Southern treat!!

DAY 4: FORT CLINCH STATE PARK – Re-enactments of garrison life bring the fort alive. Wide, white sand beaches entice sunbathers, swimmers, anglers and beachcombers.

FERNANDINA BEACH on AMELIA ISLAND, FL – An urge to shop is happily satisfied among an eclectic collection of local stores, shops, galleries and boutiques located on the winding cobblestone streets of downtown Fernandina Beach.

CUMBERLAND SOUND FERRY – Get one last taste of the ocean breeze on the Sunset Boat Tour from Fernandina Beach back to the shores of the St Marys River.
